When we first travelled through the Pulau Batu Batu region some 20 odd years ago we were stunned by it's beauty. This remote region of Indonesia is like no other and has been compared to the islands off the north coast of Thailand in it's geography. Culturally the people are friendly and non aggressive and your travels here will be lined with a back drop of smiling faces. It was this that convinced us as young traveling surfers to come back one day and when we did it was to build Telo Island Lodge.

As Indonesia's leading exclusive surf escape specialists we aim to provide a surfing experience like no other in an intensely guided and serviced environment. It's a product of our own experiences. We always enjoyed the coldest beer, the best food, the funnest waves, the most comfortable beds, the best transfer boat and the best guides … it's just they were never available at a single location with a single operation… till now.

Our accommodation is designed to blend with the local traditional styles and retain a truly jungle feel but once inside all the comforts you need are totally catered for, cool air-conditioned rooms, first class meals prepared in a restaurant quality kitchen, King size beds, complementary laundry service, broadband speed Wi-Fi … the list goes on. At Telo Island Lodge we actually have more staff than guests to maintain this for you and only seven others.

Another of the advantages of our fly in fly out service is that down time is minimal and an hour after boarding the flight to our island you should be waxing up a surfboard and receiving EXPERT instruction on where the best waves are before being transfered to them in the regions best speedboats. But the ultimate judge of any operation is the rate at which guests return and as you will see from our schedule Telo Island Lodge has the highest return rate of any surfing resort in Indonesia.
